Marketing and Business Podcasts I'm Loving

Over the past few years, I’ve been super into listening to podcasts to marketing and business advice - mixing in a few just for fun series! I absolutely love listening to experts in the field as I am driving along on my commute or even doing housework or exercise to make the most use of my time! I have a few of my favorites that I’ve listened to over the years and others that I pick and choose what episodes to listen, as only certain ones are relevant to me. I often get asked for Podcast recommendations, so I figured I’d share my favorites here! I’m also looking for some new options to add to my listening repertoire so I hope this sparks some suggestions as well!
Best of Both Worlds with Laura Vanderkam and Sarah Hart-Unger
I’m a big fan of Laura Vanderkam’s books regarding time management and love hearing both her and Sarah’s perspectives of balancing work along with family life. I love that they deal with specific questions from listeners and their topics range the gambit while through the lens of being a working mom and trying to juggle everything that life throws at you.
When I’m looking for inspiration from women entrepeneurs or really successful women who have climbed the corporate ladder, this one is my go-to. I really enjoy Rebecca Jarvis’ point of view and the way she brings out a really genuine connection with the women that she interviews.
As a service based business owner, I really connect with Maggie Patterson who runs this podcast. The unique challenges of what I do versus other agencies or digital businesses really comes through in her content and advice. I also love that she has a mix of short small episodes that I can listen to when I have a short drive for example!
As an avid listener of her morning show with Bobby Bones, I started listening to Amy’s podcast and I love the variety of what she shares from her personal journey with her family, mixing in her work life and also infusing a lot of topics around self care, health and fun lifestyle topics. While this one is less specific to marketing and business, I I really love her positive spin on everything.
I have to say, this podcast was an original favorite! I always go back Guy Raz for honest conversations about entrepreneurs building up a business and love to hear the stories about their backgrounds, how the ideas formed, challenges and how it all played out.
Social Media Marketing Podcast
For updates on social media, I think this show, from Social Media Examiner, gives really helpful, useful information that I can put into practice right away. They are awesome about sharing insights like a recent report on updates from Facebook performance and the ever-changing social media marketing landscape.
I really enjoy this podcast when I need specific information on certain marketing topics and I enjoy the range of topics they cover throughout their episode history. The hosts do a great job on covering new and emerging marketing initiatives and also bring in interesting guests to provide insight on topics.
All pretty short and succinct episodes, I really enjoy seeking out alternative perspectives on such a wide range of topics that apply to all types of business. If I’m ever searching for something to listen to, I can always find a relevant topic from their long list of episodes!
Another one on my list which I haven’t listened to yet is the WeCrashed podcast showing the rise and fall of WeWork - I’m pretty excited to start that one! What other business and marketing podcasts am I missing that I need to add to my list? Please email me suggestions: holly@littlebirdboston.com
